Scaning excimer laser system MicroScan is intended for carrying out operations on correction of myopia, hyperopia, optical aberrations and all types of astigmatism.br>
Surgical excimer laser system MicroScan uses technology with application of a method of scanning of a laser beam over a cornea surface (so called method of «a flying stain/flying spot»).

System uses an excimer laser as a radiation source which generates light pulses of an ultra-violet radiation at 193nm wavelength and at 300Hz repetition rate. Optical system forms 0.7mm diameter laser spot on the cornea surface. This spot is moved by the scanner on precalculated pattern, ablating the corneal tissue, as a result the surface of given profile is fromed.

The scanning technology in MicroScan provides:

  • formation of a smooth cornea surface
  • formation of a smooth transition zone with minimal ablation depth
  • full compliance of a functional optical zone with a given ablation zone
  • minor warming of the cornea
  • ability to produce aspherical cornea surface
  • absence of central islands

Laser beam shaping and delivering system contains a minimum quantity of optical elements, thus it simple in adjustment and service.

Componentss

  • Excimer laser
  • Laser beam shaping and delivering system
  • Eye-tracking system
  • Target system
  • System of operation area lighting
  • Aspiration system
  • Software computer control

System has the full computer control.

An efficient eye tracking system enables synchronization of laser beam scanning with reflex movements of patient’s eye during the operation. This guarantees high accuracy thus every pulse hits the given point of cornea.

The system is equipped with two types of operation area lighting: axial lighting of adjustable brightness and a special block of slit lighting for LASIK operations.

Calculation of operation parameters (diameter, ablation depth, transition zone) is performed from diagnostic data. It allows to carry out strictly dosed exposer on each point of a cornea and to receive the minimum ablation depth.

The built-in aspiration system provides cleanliness of air in operation room due to intensive removal of ablation products.
